Aliens: Colonial Marines is a first-person shooter developed by Gearbox Software and published by Sega for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Windows PCs in 2013. It had been in development since 2006.
The game is based upon the 1986 Aliens film, revolving around a team of marines sent to search for the missing Lt. Ripley and the rest of the team from the film.
Aliens: Colonial Marines was the subject of mixed-to-negative reviews at the time of release, with users citing poor AI, numerous glitches and significant deviations from the game's demo, such as lower quality lighting and production values. The response, combined with pre-existent delays meant a Wii U version, developed by Demiurge Studios was ultimately cancelled.
