Blizzard Entertainment, formerly Silicon & Synapse until 1994[1] is an American video game company best known for the Warcraft and Diablo series.

Blizzard was acquired by Davidson & Associates in early 1994[3]. Davidson would be purchased by CUC International in July 1996[3], with Blizzard becoming a wholly owned subsidiary of CUC instead. It would go on to outlive several of its former owners, and now, after a series of mergers, exists a subsidiary of holding company Activision Blizzard.
