The SG Commander control pad is a Sega Master System accessory released exclusively in Europe and Japan. It sold for £9.95 in the UK. The controller is much closer in shape to the NES controller than the standard SMS controller (particularly in its d-pad, which is cross-shaped instead of square), although it's curved on the top and has two switches which can enable rapid fire for each button. The Japanese version was produced by Hori and share the same form factor and model number as the original Hori Commander for the Family Computer and the later PC Commander for PC Engine.
