Puyo Puyo!! (ぷよぷよ!!) is a game by Sega celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Puyo Puyo franchise (the game is commonly referred to as Puyo Puyo 20th Anniversary in English-speaking circles as a result). It was released for the Nintendo DS on July 14, 2011 in Japan. During the 2011 Tokyo Game Show, Sega unveiled Wii, PSP, and 3DS ports expected by the end of the year.
New modes include wind moving already placed puyo, pre-arranged irremovable blocks on the board, and being able to drop puyo in the middle of a chain.
A special limited edition release included a set of 30 keychains. Additionally, a commemorative Puyo-themed pouch was sold separately for ¥2,079 (inc. tax).
In late 2012 Sega released a stripped-down version, Puyo Puyo!! Mini Version (ぷよぷよ!!ミニバージョン), on the Nintendo 3DS eShop. This feature has only four playable characters (Arle, Amitie, Ringo, Raffine) and limited game modes.
