Sega Ages Puyo Puyo (SEGA AGES ぷよぷよ) is a re-release of the Sega System C2 version of Puyo Puyo developed by M2 as the seventh entry of the Sega Ages lineup for the Nintendo Switch.

Gameplay

Sega Ages Puyo Puyo features the standard Arcade Mode as well as Online Match. New features include the ability to rotate Puyos to the left as well as the addition of the quick turn rule from Puyo Puyo Tsuu, and the ability to save replays of the player's sessions. The player can also choose to play either the original Japanese version or the English translation with its different story and character names.

Arcade Mode

Arcade Mode is esentially the arcade game in its entirety, and can be played with one or two players. The player can choose to enable the Helper feature, which decreases the number of Puyo colours and the drop speed of Puyos depending on the stage. If this feature is enabled, the player's scores will be recorded in the Freestyle Ranking on the online leaderboards, which is seperate from the main High Score Ranking.

Online Match

Online Match enables the player to battle against other players online. The player can choose to either engage a random opponent in a battle, or create a private room to play with anyone added to the player's friend list. The player can also choose which game version to use as well as enable or disable rotating left and quick turn.
