Fantasy Zone Neo Classic is a special Fantasy Zone game first seen in volume 33 of the Sega Ages 2500 series, Fantasy Zone Complete Collection as a secret game. It is an enhanced version of the Famicom port of Fantasy Zone that was originally developed in 1987 by Sunsoft.
Gameplay
The game retains the gameplay from the Famicom version, albeit with some changes. The HUD was displayed on the bottom of the screen, but has been shifted to the top of the screen. The graphics have received a vast overhaul and are now as colorful as they were in the arcade version, and the stage backgrounds are now displayed on various screens such as the title screen and during boss battles. The music has also been redone and is now a module-style remix of the original arcade soundtrack, with the sound effects remaining the same.
