Pit-Fighter or Pit Fighter (ピットファイター) is a 1990 arcade fighting game by Atari Games. Tengen ported it to the Sega Mega Drive internationally in 1991. The Kremlin ported it to the Sega Master System with a new soundtrack by The Doomsday Machine and with Domark releasing it in Europe in 1992.

Gameplay

The game is a conventional fighting game with a pseudo-like perspective. A/2 punches, B/1 kicks, and C (no equivalent on SMS) jumps.

In the arcades, Pit-Fighter relies on digitised graphics (later popularised by Mortal Kombat) and a sprite scaling mechanism to give the illusion of depth (of which neither Sega port offers). The Master System version uses extremely small sprites and lacks most of the crowd, making it the least faithful of the many home ports of the game.

While both versions offer two-player support, neither support the three-player option seen in the arcades.
