Hook is a video game adaption of the movie with the same name, originally released on the SNES and then ported to a variety of consoles including the Sega Mega Drive, Sega Mega-CD and Sega Game Gear. Plans for a Sega Master System version of the game were put in place, but were ultimately scrapped. A prototype of said version has since emerged during the 2000s, and its ROM has been dumped.
Gameplay
Hook is a 2D platform game where, as the grown up Peter Pan, you travel across Neverland to stop Captain Hook, who has captured your children and returned to terrorize the land once again. swings your dagger while jumps. Tinkerbell also briefly gives you the power of flight in certain sections.
While the game is tied to the film, the likenesses of the original cast are completely missing from all versions, and a new set of voice actors are used in the Mega-CD port. Only the John Williams soundtrack and three low quality full motion video clips make the transition from movie to game.
