The home computer versions of Space Harrier II were published by Grandslam for the Amiga, Atari ST, Amstrad CPC, Commodore 64, MSX and ZX Spectrum in 1990.
Much like the home computer versions of the original Space Harrier (published by Elite Systems), each port undergoes cutbacks to better suit the hardware, but is largely the same game as the Sega Mega Drive original. No versions appear to have been released outside of Europe.

Development
The 16-bit versions were programmed by a then-21-year-old Mike Heart[2] on an Atari Mega ST 4[3], with graphics by Jason Wilson[3] and sound by Matt Furniss[3]. Sega provided the Mega Drive game but little else, meaning the gameplay was copied by eye[3]. The graphics, meanwhile, were extracted from the Mega Drive ROM and adjusted in OCP Art Studio[3].
Versions
Unlike its predecessor which opted for vector graphics, the Amstrad CPC port of Space Harrier II uses sprites, and suffers from significant slowdown as a result.
