Taihei Sato (佐藤 大平), also known as Taihei Satoh, Taihey Sato and tai-hey, is a Japanese video game music composer and sound designer. He has previously worked for (in order) Data East, Sammy, SuperSweep, Unique Note, Paon and Arpeggiate, but is best-known for his time working at Sega.[6]

He entered Sega in 1996 as a design engineer following his university studies in Acoustic Engineering and surround sound technology. His success in simulating the sounds of a car engine allowed him to be the sound designer for Le Mans 24, and he developed ways to implement real-time commentary for horse racing with Derby Owners Club. He has also provided 5.1ch sound system support for some of the games he was involved with.

After briefly working for SuperSweep and Unique Note, he joined Paon, a reemerge of Data East's staff following the latter's bankruptcy. His most recent contribution to Sega was with Drone Racing Genesis, done through the company he was CEO of at the time, Arpeggiate.[6]
