Junpei Mishima (三島 順平) is a Sega sound composer. Born on May 20th (the same day as fellow Hitmaker Sound Team member Kentaro Koyama) in 1982, Mishima was inspired to pursue music after seeing his sister learning it. He was heavily influenced by Sega music, with his first album purchase being Virtua Fighter 2 Sound Track.
In 2003 Mishima joined the Hitmaker Sound Team[2], becoming the group's first new sound recruit since 1999[3] when Mitsuharu Fukuyama and Takeshi Isozaki joined. Mishima's first project was The Quiz Show, before taking over for Takenobu Mitsuyoshi on the World Club Champion Football series. He would later be moved to the AM2 department, where he would contribute to Virtua Fighter, Shining Force Cross sub-series of Shining games, and most famously, Border Break, for which he was also a member of the band Metasequioia which performed at live events similar to the S.S.T.Band.[4]
