Bugs Bunny in Double Trouble is a platform game developed for the Sega Mega Drive and Sega Game Gear by Probe and Atod. It stars Bugs Bunny of Looney Tunes fame, and also features various other Looney Tunes characters. It was not released in Japan.

    Story

Bugs Bunny in Double Trouble MD, Introduction.png

    Introduction

One night, Bugs Bunny is fast asleep in his bed as he starts to drift off into a dream. In his dream, he sees Yosemite Sam experimenting on a "giant carrot serum," but before he can take action, Sam orders the monster Gossamer to fetch the rabbit's brain for his robot, prompting chase. Bugs soon comes across a "Televisor" and is transported to several of his older cartoons.

    Gameplay

The game is a platformer played as the rascally rabbit Bugs Bunny. Each level is based on a classic cartoon and has its own special items and goals. Bugs moves with Left or Right and runs by holding C with a direction. He can only run a short distance before he has to stop and catch his breath. He crouches with Down and jumps with B. Most enemies can be attacked by jumping on them. Some levels have special weapons that Bugs can use with A.

Bugs has a health meter depicted as a carrot, which goes down as he takes damage from enemies and hazards. He loses a life when he runs out of health, but he revives instantly if he has extra lives remaining. Some levels also have time limits, and Bugs loses a life and must restart the level if time runs out.

    Duck! Rabbit, Duck!
Bugs and Daffy are being hunted by Elmer Fudd. Bugs must change all of the rabbit signs to ducks to fool Elmer into thinking it is duck season. The signs flip when Daffy passes them. Bugs can bait Daffy into chasing him by teasing Daffy with C. Bugs can also pick up and throw glue pots at Daffy with A to stick him in place for a few seconds. He climbs ladders with Up or Down and slides down vines with Down.

    Bully for Bugs
Bugs jumps on Bully's back to launch himself into the air to collect the floating dynamite. After grabbing hold of the dynamite, he can guide it to the boarded up holes in the ground to blow them open and jump into the holes with Down to go underground. While underground, Bugs must search for parts with which to construct a bull trap. He can open gates and trap the lions in cages by using C to flip the switches.

    Haunted Hare
Bugs is chased through a haunted mansion by Gossamer. Jumping on Gossamer temporarily slows him down. Bugs can find keys to open locked doors and books to throw at monsters with A. Bugs eventually fights the mad scientist in his lab. Bugs can flip the switches with C to zap the mad scientist.

Bugs Bunny in Double Trouble MD, Stage 6.png

    Spaced Out Bunny
Bugs flies through space to Mars, while Marvin the Martian tries to deter him. This level is played from a third-person 3D perspective. Bugs moves in any direction with the D-Pad and shoots with A. Blue asteroids contain items and can be blasted open.

Bugs Bunny in Double Trouble MD, Stage 7.png

    Mad as a Mars Hare
Bugs pilots a flying saucer across Mars. This level is played as a side-scrolling shoot-'em-up. Bugs moves in any direction with the D-Pad and shoots with A. Colliding with terrain costs a life.

Bugs Bunny in Double Trouble MD, Stage 8.png

    Hareway to the Stars
On Mars, Bugs must first find the Illudium Pew-36 Space Modulator and then find the switches to flip Marvin's lasers in reverse. Bugs flips the switches with C.

    Bonus level

Bugs Bunny in Double Trouble MD, Bonus Stage.png

    Bonus level

Bugs plays a bonus level after the current level when he finds three Bonus Stars. There are three stars in the first two levels, three more in the next two levels, and none after that, so it is possible to play the bonus level twice if the player finds all the stars.

Bugs falls through a tunnel and collects carrots for extra lives. He moves in any direction with the D-Pad.
