Mystic Defender is probably one of the most interesting games for those who use a English/Japanese switch on their Mega Drive. Not only is the text swapped, but also the intro, and the main character becomes a girl instead of a boy in the Japanese version.
+
Also as with ''Kujakuou'', the main character (Kujaku) receives a redesign and a new name.

Just as Kujakuou was released overseas as SpellCaster, Kujakuou 2 was released overseas as Mystic Defender. In Korea it was named On Dal Jang Goon (온달장군) and some character graphics were changed.

Also as with Kujakuou, the main character (Kujaku) receives a redesign and a new name.
