Micro Machines is a top-down racing game developed by Codemasters, themed around Galoob's brand of toys of the same name. It was originally released for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1991, before being brought to the Sega Mega Drive, Sega Master System and Sega Game Gear in 1993. The Master System and Game Gear versions were released exclusively in Europe.
Contents
Gameplay
What sets Micro Machines apart from its competition of the day is the size of the vehicles used, so rather than simply racing around a generic track, the player must race around much smaller areas such as table tops. There are a variety of different vehicles that are automatically assigned depending on the track.
History
Legacy
Due to its success, Micro Machines was followed by Micro Machines 2: Turbo Tournament and numerous other sequels.
