Takuya Toyota (豊田 卓也) is technical artist and former animator at Sega of Japan. He is a recurring developer behind both Yakuza and Super Monkey Ball franchises.

Career

Takuya Toyota joined Overworks in 2002 and began with the games Sakura Taisen: Atsuki Chishio Ni, Nightshade and Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love. After his work on Valkyria Chronicles at Overworks successor Global Entertainment R&D Dept. 2, he was transferred to Sega CS1, and began work on the Yakuza series starting with Yakuza 3 and the Super Monkey Ball series starting with Super Monkey Ball: Step & Roll[1].

Following his extensive work on Binary Domain, including the creation of rigs, scripts, playable event scenes and even direction[1], he instead started to provide art assistance/support. Beginning with Yakuza Kiwami 2, he became part of the technical art team, but would continue to be part of the animation production team for roughly half of his games afterwards.
