Unlike other magazines, ''Sega XS'' consisted entirely of walkthroughs, tips and codes. Walkthroughs comprised about two-thirds of each magazine, and were very detailed, with maps of whole levels which were constructed by splicing together dozens of screenshots. The rest of the magazine contained lists of cheats and [[Action Replay]]/[[Game Genie]] codes.
