Sega Amusements International Ltd. (SAI), often trading as just Sega Amusements, was a wholly owned subsidiary of Sega that focuses primarily on arcade machines which they distribute internationally. It was formed when merging Sega Amusements USA and Sega Amusements Europe.
On March 25th 2021, Sega sold its stake in Sega Amusements International to Kaizen Entertainment Ltd.[1][2], citing poor sales as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. As Kaizen Entertainment was founded by CEO Paul Williams, this represented a management buyout; SAI would continue to license the Sega brand, but would be a wholly independent company.
