− | | + | PAGENAME (ジャスティスリーグ) is a 1995 fighting game by Condor, Sunsoft, and Acclaim to tie into the Justice League Task Force comic books. The game was ported to the Super NES by Blizzard Entertainment. |

+ | | ||
+ | Darkseid attacks the planet Earth, destroying a military base in the process. The player takes control of a member of the Justice League of their choosing, and tracks down the other members for information, only to be attacked by them. As the hero defeats the other Justice League members, they discover that they are in fact android duplicates. Coming to this conclusion, the hero battles Cheetah and then Despero for more information.
+ | |||
+ | They both lead the hero to Darkseid, who then forces the hero to fight their own duplicate. Upon defeating the clone, the hero must face Darkseid himself. After the hero defeats him, the other League members are freed, and the military base is restored.

+ | ==Gameplay== | ||
+ | | ||
+ | The game is a one-on-one fighting game closely inspired by Street Fighter II but starring superheroes and supervillains from the DC Comics universe. Two fighters square off in a small arena and compete to drain the other's health bar by landing attacks (or by having more health left than the opponent when the timer runs out). The first fighter to win two rounds is the victor.
− | + | Characters move with left and right, crouch with down, and jump with up. Characters can punch with X (light), Y (medium), and Z (hard) and kick with A (light), B (medium), and C (hard), with light attacks being faster and hard attacks dealing more damage. When playing with a standard three-button control pad, Start toggles between punches and kicks.
− | + | Opponents can be grabbed or thrown by holding left or right while standing next to them, then pressing a medium or hard punch or kick button. Attacks, other than grapple moves, can be blocked by holding the D-Pad away from the opponent. Each character has a selection of special moves that can be performed by pairing specific directional combinations with an attack.

− | == | + | ===Modes=== |
− | + | The game has a single-player story mode, called the Hero Mode, where the player can choose to play as any of the Justice League members as they fight robot clones of each other made by Darkseid, who has taken control of a military base. After fighting the other Justice League members, the hero fights Cheetah and Despero and then a clone of themselves before facing Darkseid.
− | |||
− | |||
− | == | + | There are two versus modes: a single-player mode where the player chooses a character to play and a computer-controlled character to fight and a two-player mode where both players can choose any character. Both fighters can be the same character in this mode, and the boss characters are also available to play. Players can choose any stage to play and can choose a strength level (between one and five), so players can be handicapped depending on their skill levels for more balanced matches. |
− | {{ | + | |
− | | | + | There are three difficulty levels for the computer combatants (Easy, Normal, and Hard) and four game speeds (Slow, Normal, Fast, and Fastest). Players can also toggle the timer (which is 99 seconds per round). |
− | | | + | |
− | | | + | ===Characters=== |
+ | | ||
+ | Charged moves can be charged in diagonal directions. So, for example, holding downleft is equivalent to holding down or left.

+ | ==Versions== | ||
+ | Justice League Task Force was released around the same period for both the Mega Drive and Super NES, but while the cast of characters, story and main modes of the game are the same, the graphics and audio are unique to each platform, meaning enemies are often fought in entirely different settings. Gameplay differs between the two versions also, with the Mega Drive geared more towards close-combat fighting as opposed to the projectile attacks witnessed more often on the Super NES.

Justice League Task Force (ジャスティスリーグ) is a 1995 fighting game by Condor, Sunsoft, and Acclaim to tie into the Justice League Task Force comic books. The game was ported to the Super NES by Blizzard Entertainment.

Story
Darkseid attacks the planet Earth, destroying a military base in the process. The player takes control of a member of the Justice League of their choosing, and tracks down the other members for information, only to be attacked by them. As the hero defeats the other Justice League members, they discover that they are in fact android duplicates. Coming to this conclusion, the hero battles Cheetah and then Despero for more information.
They both lead the hero to Darkseid, who then forces the hero to fight their own duplicate. Upon defeating the clone, the hero must face Darkseid himself. After the hero defeats him, the other League members are freed, and the military base is restored.
Gameplay
The game is a one-on-one fighting game closely inspired by Street Fighter II but starring superheroes and supervillains from the DC Comics universe. Two fighters square off in a small arena and compete to drain the other's health bar by landing attacks (or by having more health left than the opponent when the timer runs out). The first fighter to win two rounds is the victor.
Characters move with and , crouch with , and jump with . Characters can punch with (light), (medium), and (hard) and kick with (light), (medium), and (hard), with light attacks being faster and hard attacks dealing more damage. When playing with a standard three-button control pad, START toggles between punches and kicks.
Opponents can be grabbed or thrown by holding or while standing next to them, then pressing a medium or hard punch or kick button. Attacks, other than grapple moves, can be blocked by holding the D-Pad away from the opponent. Each character has a selection of special moves that can be performed by pairing specific directional combinations with an attack.
Modes
The game has a single-player story mode, called the Hero Mode, where the player can choose to play as any of the Justice League members as they fight robot clones of each other made by Darkseid, who has taken control of a military base. After fighting the other Justice League members, the hero fights Cheetah and Despero and then a clone of themselves before facing Darkseid.
There are two versus modes: a single-player mode where the player chooses a character to play and a computer-controlled character to fight and a two-player mode where both players can choose any character. Both fighters can be the same character in this mode, and the boss characters are also available to play. Players can choose any stage to play and can choose a strength level (between one and five), so players can be handicapped depending on their skill levels for more balanced matches.
There are three difficulty levels for the computer combatants (Easy, Normal, and Hard) and four game speeds (Slow, Normal, Fast, and Fastest). Players can also toggle the timer (which is 99 seconds per round).

Versions
Justice League Task Force was released around the same period for both the Mega Drive and Super NES, but while the cast of characters, story and main modes of the game are the same, the graphics and audio are unique to each platform, meaning enemies are often fought in entirely different settings. Gameplay differs between the two versions also, with the Mega Drive geared more towards close-combat fighting as opposed to the projectile attacks witnessed more often on the Super NES.
