Unlike his previous appearance, Wolverine in this game is a powerhouse. He can effortlessly carve through any minor enemy or boss character. His claws cause serious damage to any enemy and his healing power is much faster this time. He is the only character whose power bar will drain while active, even if he is not doing anything. Complete the Danger Room level to unlock him.

Bishop is a quirky character. He has a rather unique mutant power which allows him to absorb enemy projectile attacks, practically making him invulnerable and fire it back using his gun. His has some drawbacks however. If mutant power bar is full, any hit will overload his powers, costing him his entire power bar. He also takes damage from bullets in this state. Because of this, you should make sure he never has full power bar. Complete the Genosha level to unlock him.

X-Men: GamesMaster's Legacy is an action game tied in with Marvel's X-Men franchise. It was released for the Sega Game Gear.

Gameplay

Controls are the same as previous game. Button 1 attacks, Button 2 jumps. Pressing  START  button activates the character's mutant power. Holding down the Start button pauses the game. Pressing button 1 while game pauses sends you back to level select screen. This doesn't cost anything but forces you to restart the level.

Characters

Cyclops

No one likes Cyclops. Developers didn't either it seems, as he is the worst character in the game. In fact, he is the only "useless" character in the game as every single other character in the roster can complete the game with some skill on their own.

Cyclops' mutant power is his optic blasts. He can fire towards any direction while holding down the button 1. That is his only advantage. He has very little health and runs through his power bar very quickly. He also takes damage when he falls from high, unlike rest of the characters.

Mutant Power: Optic blasts, can be fired towards any direction.

Storm

Storm hasn't changed much from her previous appearance. She can fly and fire projectile while her mutant power is active. She is a powerful character but her health and mutant power bars are somewhat lower, so focusing on projectile attacks with hit and run tactics are much more useful for her. Her power drains in a moderate pace.

Mutant Power: Flight, Projectile attacks.

Wolverine

Unlike his previous appearance, Wolverine in this game is a powerhouse. He can effortlessly carve through any minor enemy or boss character. His claws cause serious damage to any enemy and his healing power is much faster this time. He is the only character whose power bar will drain while active, even if he is not doing anything. Complete the Danger Room level to unlock him.

Mutant Power: Adamantium claws, Healing Factor

Rogue

Rogue is even better character from her previous appearance. In addition to flight and super strenght, Rogue has the highest health and power bar compared to the rest of the roster. She can fly longer than both Storm and Rogue and her mutant powered punches can cause heavy damage. Her only disadvantage is her lack of projectile attacks. Complete the Hellfire Club level to unlock her.

Mutant Power: Flight, Super Strenght.

Jean Grey

Jean Grey is more or less identical to Storm. They both can fly and fire projectile attacks. Their health and power bars are also identical. Besides their costumes, there is little difference between them. Complete the Avalon level to unlock her.

Mutant Power: Flight, Psionic projectile attack.

Gambit

Gambit has high amount of health and mutant power. His mutant power fires kinetically charged playing cards towards the enemy with good damage. His regular staff attack, while fast and good ranged, somewhat weak. A useful character with no glaring weaknesses or strenghts. Complete the Arctic level to unlock him.
