Takashi Shoji (庄司 卓) is the director of the Sega Project Support Department. He began as a programmer in 1987, his first game being a Master System shooter aimed at the European market[8]. One of his earliest more notable works was Alex Kidd in Shinobi World[9], also not released in Japan. Some of his best known games on Master System starred licensed characters such as Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse and Asterix[10]. He continued to work as a lead programmer with the Game Gear[6] and Sega Saturn.
Shoji switched to providing technical support in the Saturn and Dreamcast eras. He has been a committee member at CEDEC since 2008[3]. Around 2009 he became the manager of the CS R&D Promotion Dept.[11] [Note: is the translation accurate?] and thus managed all product testing at Sega.
