Kenji Arai (新井 健二) joined Sega in 1991 and was assigned to AM R&D Dept. #3 as a graphic designer, with his debut being Dark Edge[7]. He took on the role of assistant producer starting with the arcade title Sega Rally 2. Afterwards, he worked on numerous racing games as producer at Sega Rosso. He is a car lover, to the point that he rides one on weekends all the way to where Mt. Fuji is.
