This short article is in need of work. You can help Sega Retro by adding to it.
Another in the line of the Action Replay accessories, this one is for the Sega Mega Drive. The Action Replay is a cheat device created by Datel without a license from Sega.
Several versions of the Mega Drive Action Replay were produced, a standard Action Replay, Pro Version Action Replay, Pro Action Replay and Pro Action Replay 2 (the latter sometimes dropping the "2"). The devices are largely identical (though shipped with different code sheets), however the "Pro" models allow users to find their own codes, a staple feature in Action Replay devices moving forward. There are many packaging variants but aside from the aforementioned code finding feature, the cartridges are the same.
Unlike its Game Gear and Master System counterparts the Mega Drive Action Replay was released in North America, though was unable to find the same level of success as the Game Genie.
