Undumped and incorrectly dumped games

ROMs do not last forever — specialized hardware used on some cartridges may last even less time. There is an active community of people interested in maintaining data about dumped ROMs to ensure games are not lost forever. However, some releases are rare. making it hard to track down and dump the ROM (Sansan was this way for a long time); in some cases, this happens to particular revisions of games. Not all dumps are good dumps — overdumping (when more is dumped than the EEPROM actually has and there is wraparound — which could probably have other errors) or bad dumping (when something goes wrong and the data is not bit perfect) can also happen. Finally, homebrew developers are actively looking out to ensure piracy of their games do not happen, and consequently those games also remain undumped.

It is known that Super Fighter Team now owns its copyright, but exactly what he has done with the copyright is currently unknown (or if he even did release an English version), and may actively prevent even the original version from being dumped. A bad dump of this original version may have been dumped by drx from a damaged cart sent to him by someone in a package full of unlicensed cartridges of varying quality; this has yet to be confirmed.

NBA Playoffs: Bulls vs. Blazers Japan	Dumped — but see description	The list indicates that there is a mismatch between the checksums in Xacrow's(who?) dump and in Cowering's GoodGen set. The md5sum of the ROM in no-intro's set is 97e07d6d00662e1d688229233ececddd, so this may have been resolved. Investigation needed.

Valis III Japan	????? — see description	The no-intro ROM name was changed after the list was made to "Valis III (Japan) (Rev A).md." However, the list says they have 1.1, and are missing 1.0. This might mean 1.1 is Rev A, and 1.0 is another revision. Investigation needed.

While the game continues to be sold, the exact number of revisions are unknown.
Xin Qigai Wangzi/Beggar Prince	Xin Qigai Wangzi dumped, Beggar Prince undumped	Super Fighter Team recent release; they are trying to prevent all forms of distribution except resale (despite having not sold the game in a while). Three manufacturing runs were made; the exact number of revisions are unknown.

Furthermore, the following are on no-intro's undumped list, but the ROMs they have are marked as for more regions than the list indicates, so it is possible the undumped ROMs were dumped and found to be identical to the already dumped ones, unless there is evidence of difference — this requires some investigation. The list is outdated so this could have been investigated already (outdated entries on their list that can be proven easily from the current datfiles are already omitted from this page).
