Kenji Arai (新井 健二) joined Sega in 1991. After serving as designer at the third AM R&D division, he went from the arcade title Sega Rally 2 to the role of assistant producer. Afterwards, he worked on numerous racing games as producer at Sega Rosso. He is a car lover, to the point that he rides one on weekends all the way to where Mt. Fuji is.
