The The Pad Plus controller is a third-party peripheral for the Sega Mega Drive, created by Innovation. Judging from the title it is assumed to be a "successor" to the The Pad controller, though in fact adds nothing over its predecessor, being instead a simple clone of Sega's official Six Button Control Pad.
The history of the The Pad Plus is not fully understood. Similar to the Recoton Turbo Control Pad and Power Pad by Champ, the design is inspired by Sega's regular three button Control Pad, with the extra buttons crudely placed on the right hand side (though as a six button controller, The Pad Plus has an extra MODE button). The controller was frequently cloned by unknown companies and often appeared in regions such as South America or eastern/southern Asia, often with different coloured buttons.
