The UK release of the Super Sonic Gold pack (the third unit released in the UK, hence Volume 3 here).

The Legends Series is a collection of RCA jack "Mega Drive-on-a-chip" units made by Radica Games. These contain several Mega Drive games in each pack, embedded into a small system that takes 4 AA batteries and has an attached controller. It can also be powered by a 6V mains plug, which is not supplied.

Like many recent Mega Drive clones, the sound is imperfect, meaning many games sound slightly different than intended. Each game is played with a controller almost physically identical to the original Sega Mega Drive gamepad, but with an extra button which will reset the unit and take the user to a menu screen. Strangely, despite having redesigned packaging for a European audience, North American ESRB ratings can be seen on some units instead of the expected PEGI or BBFC ratings.
