Sega Ages Alex Kidd in Miracle World (SEGA AGES アレックスキッドのミラクルワールド) is a re-release of Alex Kidd in Miracle World developed by M2 as the sixth entry in the Sega Ages lineup for the Nintendo Switch.

Gameplay

Sega Ages Alex Kidd in Miracle World features three gameplay modes to the player: AGES Mode, Original Mode and Challenge Mode. Extra features include the ability to save and load game progress, and save replays of the player's sessions in the main game or Challenge Mode. The player may also change the game's region to Japanese, International or Hamburger.

AGES Mode

AGES Mode is a special updated version of the game. This version adds a number of enhancements to the game, such as a new soundtrack recreated with the FM Sound Unit, new still images that are displayed at the beginning of every level, and a more simplified way of continuing the game after a Game Over: the player no longer has to enter a button code or pay 400U, as they can simply choose to continue for free.

When playing this mode, the player can choose to enable the Rewind feature, which enables them to undo the last 5 seconds of gameplay by simply pressing either ZL or ZR at any time. However, using this feature will prevent replay data from being saved, and scores will not be registered on the online leaderboards.

Original Mode

Original Mode is essentially the original version of the game as it was originally played on the Sega Master System without any enhancements.

Challenge Mode

In Challenge Mode, the player can compete for a high score in one of two challenges with their best scores being uploaded to an online leaderboard. The challenges are:

  1. Petit-copter Time Attack: Fly to the goal in the Petit-copter as quickly as possible. Crashing the Petit-copter results in failure.
  2. Castle Quest Time Attack: Defeat Janken the Great and rescue Princess Lora as quickly as possible. The player has infinite lives for this challenge.
