Fumie Kumatani (熊谷 文恵) is a Japanese musician and former Sega of Japan and Wave Master composer, lyricist, and musician. She also voiced the Rappies in Phantasy Star Online, as part of being in charge of enemy sound effects for the game.[5]

From nearly as early as she can remember, Fumie Kumatani felt an affinity for music creation, stating: "I don't remember why I started but I said to my mother while crying 'No more candy, please give me a piano!'"[6]
Kumatani left Sega in 2008; however, she would continue working with the company in a contract role up until the release of Sonic Colors.
