Sega Rosso was a development studio within Sega.
Sega Rosso is not a household name when it comes to internal Sega developers - though it produced some critically acclaimed works, much of its output did not leave Japan or was not heavily publicised. It is most famous for starting Sega's series of arcade racing games based on the Initial D anime license.
It is said that in 2004 the team was merged into Hitmaker, creating an odd case where the PlayStation 2 game, Initial D: Special Stage credits Sega Rosso in its original release, but Hitmaker in the PlayStation 2 The Best budget range.
