The Mega Drive 32X first appeared in this region in the beginning of the 1995 and was distributed to other countries in the following months. The console was in the PAL system seen in the rest of Europe with exceptions such as Bulgaria where the cheaper Asian model was distributed.

The console was not popular in the region due to low availability, especially when compared to the Sega Mega CD.

Models of this console began to disappear from stores in 1996/1997. This console appeared for the last time in this region in Bulgaria in May 1998 at Mortal Kombat 3 Ultimate Tournament, where it was funded as the main prize.
