Sega CS1 is a continuation of NE with some staff of Sports Design R&D. It is not to be confused with the CS1 that existed from 1996 to 1998. Within CS1,Ryu ga Gotoku Studio (龍が如くスタジオ) was established after the development of Yakuza: Dead Souls was completed.
