The 4th Development Division[1] (第4事業部)[2] is a development division of Sega. It's primary job is to act as a continuation of Sega Networks, developing mobile games. It works with pre-established Sega IP to reach new audiences. It specializes in market research so that game development for live-service games can keep up with changing in the global market and consumer needs.[1]
Compared to other development divisions, it has struggled to find success, with some of its usual practices for finding success in Japan, such as gacha games, being outlawed in other countries.[1]
