Team Aquila is a former development division of Sega AM6 (which went on to become Smilebit). The team was founded around 1995 and produced four football titles for the Sega Saturn before being absorbed back into AM6 in 1998.
Like Team Andromeda, Team Aquila was named after a constellation to keep with the "space" theme Sega had adopted with their Sega planet codenames.
