The Mega Drive X is a unlicensed Sega Mega Drive clone manufactured by Simba. It was distributed in China, Russia and parts of Europe, and seems to have a shell based on the Genesis 3. It's compatible with the Master System Converter II. It comes with a manual in Russian, a power adapter, AV and RF (sometimes) cables, and two six-button turbo controllers. It has overclock, region, and hertz switches on the bottom. It's notable for having heavy input lag.

There are numerous differences in different areas between revisions; it's unknown how many different combinations were produced. One variation has "16-Bit" printed on top, one has the Sega logo, and one has nothing. One has an RF port, while the other does not. There is even a variation with different, console-on-a-chip internals- this one has a chip date of 2010, but was sold online on what might be an official Simba website (Everything's in Russian so it's hard to tell, but it does list some Simba clone consoles and other bootlegs...) as recently as 2012. There are three box types (and another with just a spelling fix), the later, more common two seemingly correlating with the console-on-a-chip version and having Pokémon pictures on the side for some reason.
