Family Entertainment R&D Deptartment[1] (ファミリーエンターテインメント研究開発部)[2] is the successor to Mirai R&D. It was founded on April 1 2005 and held a standalone position within the Amusement R&D Div.[2][1]. It continued to focus on kids arcade games. It also produced some of the handheld adaptions of the arcade games. It closed during the 2010 restructure. Sega continued to develop arcade games for kids as well their respective adaptions for portable devices within their development divisions.
