The 3rd Development Division[1] (第3事業部)[2] is a development division of Sega. It produces Games as a Service (GaaS), meaning it creates games that continue to be updated and generate revenue after launch. The division covers various platforms, including consoles, PC, arcades and mobile, and runs several cross-platform games globally.[1]
It is the main department responsible for the "Super Games", a line of worldwide AAA titles built with global communities in mind.[1]
The division was recorded as having over 600 staff members in 2023, many of them moved over from other previous departments to facilitate the development of Super Games.[2]
