The Polymega by Playmaji is a video game console released in 20xx. A modular system, the Polymega is capable of running a large number of video game cartridges and discs from a variety of older consoles. The console was announced in 2017, preorders were taken in 2019 (with price of $539.95[1]) but the console was released in 2021.

Features

The Polymega consists of a base unit and four optional "modules", allowing users to play games from classic Sega, Nintendo, NEC, Sony and SNK platforms.

The base unit consists of a disc drive and wireless controller, and can run Sega Mega-CD and Sega Saturn software out of the box, as well as discs for the CD-ROM², Super CD-ROM², Arcade CD-ROM², Neo Geo CD and PlayStation. Each module adds support for cartridges/cards and original controllers, with "Power" covering the Nintendo Entertainment System and Famicom, "Turbo" the PC Engine and TurboGrafx-16, "Super" the Super NES, and "Mega" the Sega 32X and Sega Mega Drive.

The console is completely region free for all systems and relies on emulation, sourced from a number of different developers (including Steve Snake of Kega Fusion fame). The system is able to recognise the vast majority of titles for all the aforementioned systems, with box art, screenshots and game information being supplied by the Polymega team. A compatible light gun is also available designed to work with modern flat-panel displays.
