Tony La Russa Baseball is a baseball game released for the Sega Mega Drive, and is part of the larger Tony La Russa Baseball series. It only saw a widespread release in North America, with a planned European release[2] getting cancelled, though a small run of the game found its way to Australia.
Tony La Russa Baseball is loosely based on the 1991 Commodore 64 and IBM PC game, Tony La Russa's Ultimate Baseball, though is updated and optimised for the Mega Drive platform. It is also licensed by the Major League Baseball Players Association, so has real players (though not real team names; instead defaulting to city names).
