John Madden Football: Championship Edition named John Madden Football '93: Championship Edition on the game's title screen, is an update to John Madden Football '93 released by Electronic Arts on the Sega Mega Drive exclusively in the US in 1993. Unlike other games in the series, this one was initially not available to buy - it was a "rental exclusive", but it did eventually get a limited general release in March 1993 for $89.99 to the first 1,000 telephone orders.[2]. It features all of the Championship teams from 1966-present, along with some of the losers as well.
