NBA Live 95 is Electronic Arts' officially licensed basketball game for 1995, and a successor to NBA Showdown '94. It was released for the Sega Mega Drive in late 1994. It is the first game to adopt the "NBA Live" moniker, which continues in EA's basketball products to this day.

Gameplay
Unlike EA's Madden franchise which largely iterated on the same engine year-on-year, NBA Live 95 is an entirely different basketball game to its predecessor (written by a different team at Hitmen Productions), and is now played from an isometric perspective, similar to FIFA International Soccer and its successors.
Licensing issues mean that Charles Barkley is replaced with a stand-in player; "A.C. Green".

Versions
As with the majority of EA console sports titles, the Mega Drive was the designated target platform for NBA Live 95 during development, before being ported to the Super NES. Primarily the difference between the two versions lies in screen resolution; the Mega Drive using the full 320x224 resolution available, while the SNES opting for 256x224. While menus and the HUD were adapted for the lower resolution of the SNES, the court and players were not, meaning less is viewable on screen and the gameplay is noticeably more "stretched" than its Mega Drive counterpart.
The Super NES version also misses some elements such as the star indicating which player is being controlled, and team members running onto the court as their names are listed at the beginning of the game. The scenery is also slightly more animated in the Mega Drive version.
