NHLPA Hockey '93 is the second NHL licensed ice hockey game developed by EA Sports (or Electronic Arts Sports Network as it was known then) for the Sega Mega Drive (and SNES). During development it was known as NHLPA Hockey '92.
The game is the only entry in the series not to have full NHL branding. It has the license of the NHL Players Association, meaning all the players in-game are named, but the official team names were not allowed to be featured in this title. To make do, EA Sports simply assigned these players to teams such as "Washington" or "Toronto". It was also the last game which involved players being able to fight each other on the rink.
