Global Entertainment R&D Dept. #1[2] (第一GE研究開発部)[3], also known as GE1, was the first Global Entertainment research and development department of Sega Corporation, focusing on consumer business[2], and was the corporate name of the more well known Sonic Team from 2005-2008. It was one of 7 departments under the Global Entertainment R&D Div.[2]. The division continued as CS2 in May 2008.
