The Saturn Backup Memory cartridges was officially supported in many game world wide.

Some games such as Virtua Fighter and the original release of Daytona USA only support saving to Internal battery memory and will not save directly to cartridge, (although secondary backups can be made with the memory managers Copy function, those games will not load from cartridge) and games like Clockwork Knight don't allow the saving of progress at all.
This list contains games that allow saving and loading from the external cartridge memory.
