AM2 of CRI was a division of Sega created in February 2000, when Sega Software R&D Dept. 2 was merged with the software development division of CSK Research Institute (CRI).
AM2 of CRI existed for much of 2000 and part of 2001, continuing to operate as it had before, but downplaying the use of "Sega" and the iconic palmtree logo over this period. Its existence was short-lived, being spun off into a full Sega-AM2 subsidiary in August 2001.
