In the 70s Colombia was one of the countries where Sega imported its game machines.[1]
In the early 90s official distributor came to release Sega products in the region. The most popular of Sega's consoles was Sega Genesis released here in 1992[2], but it lost with Super Nintendo.[3] Brazilian distributor TecToy planned to release Mega Drive III, Game Gear, Sega CD, Mega 32X and Sega Saturn in Colombia after September 1995, but it is not known what happened next[4]. In 2001, Dreamcast was released.[5]
In 2007, Synergex became a representative of Sega[6][7] and distributed titles until 2012. From late 2000s, Sega games are distributed locally by two distributors - Latam Games and NC Games[8][9].
