History of Sega in Indonesia
Official Sega distributor(s): New Era (2005-2019), Play Interactive (2016-2019), Epicsoft Asia (2019-present)

Sega is thought to have official distribution channels in Indonesia, however very little is currently known.

Many Sega consoles and components were manufactured in Indonesia. In September 1991, Sega signed a contract with Micro Supply CV for the production of Mega Drive console starting from October 1991.[1]In June 1995, Sega announced that it was planning to move production of all gaming machines out of Japan by the end of March 1996. Even before that, the company already produced all gaming machines for foreign markets and 60% of gaming machines for the Japanese market at foreign plants in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, China and Taiwan.[2][3]

Sega introduced Pico to Taiwan and Indonesia in late 1997 and expects to achieve total sales of 330,000 units in both countries by 2000.[4]This console has a Gama company logo.[5]

New Era from 2005-2019 was a distributor.[6].From 2016 to 2019 games were also sold by Play Interactive.

From 2019, Epicsoft Asia became the distributor and released Genesis Mini and Yakuza 6.[7]

Passion Marketing distributes toys form Sega.[8]
