Ariolasoft distributed the Sega Master System in Germany from 1986 until September 1988 when Virgin Mastertronic took over. Early German Master System releases often had German language covers and instructions.
Virgin's European Sega distribution business including Germany was bought out by Sega in 1991, with the new company named Sega Europe.
Following restructuring in 2012 Sega Europe closed down it's German operations, handing over distribution to Koch Media.
