History of Sega in Malaysia


Official Sega distributor(s): Wywy Group (1993-200x), New Era (2005-2019) , Play Interactive (2016-2019) , Epicsoft Asia (2019-present)

In 1993, Wywy Group began distributing Sega products in this region. Sold Sega Game Gear, Sega Mega Drive model 2, Sega Mega-CD, Sega 32X (all in PAL) and Sega Saturn (white version of NTSC).^[1].

New Era from 2005-2019 was a distributor.^[2].From 2016 to 2019 games were also sold by Play Interactive.

From 2019, Epicsoft Asia became the distributor and released Mega Drive Mini and Yakuza 6.^[3]
