History of Sega in Venezuela |
---|
Official Sega distributor(s): Unknown (199?-2002) Latam Games (2012-present) |
In the 70s Venezuela was one of the countries where Sega imported its game machines.[1]
Sometime during the 1990s, SEGA would get fame across the rest of South America thanks to a unknown distributor. That distributor went bankrupt in 2003 due to SEGA shifting away from consoles or the rise of imports from rivals such as Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft or combat of piracy itself. Latam Games distributes Sega games in Venezuela from 2012[2]. The company also cooperated with NC Games[3].
