Melchioni distributed the SC-3000 in Italy from around 1983 to 1985. In November 1986 NBC Italia released the Sega Master System and distributed it until 1988 when Giochi Preziosi took over.[1] Giochi Preziosi would remain Sega's Italian distributor for all Sega hardware up to and including the Saturn.In 1999, Halifax became the distributor[2] who belongs to Digital Bros. Company held this function until 2015 ,when Koch Media took over.[3]
Since 1988, Tecnoplay has begun cooperating in importing arcades from Data East which later changed its name to Sega Pinball. In 1991, Tecnoplay released the first Sega arcades called Virtua Racing.[4]
In 1996, TCI's technology group got the rights to distribute Sega Channel in Italy, but it is not known that the service was launched there.
